Registration: step by step

First steps

1) When accessing the Towards Dakar website (fsm2011.org), choose a language on the menu on the upper right corner then click “Registration” on the main menu bar. Or go directly to the Registration website ( http://registration.fsm2011.org/ ).

2) Click “create new account”

3) Still on this page, type the username of your preference, you e-mail address and you password (two times).

4) You will receive a message on your e-mail inbox. Click on the e-mail validation link. You will be redirected to the “Registration complete” page and receive a second e-mail, to confirm this operation.

5) Click the WSF 2011 Logo above to return to the Log in page, or go back via the address:

6) Type your correct username and password, click Login.

Observation 1: If the language changes, you can always change it on the language menu above.

7) On the Registration page you find two options: Individual Participant / Organization. Click the preferred one.

 

Individual Participant Registration

1) Fill up all required fields (marked with a * ) and click “Register Participant”.

Observation 2: the scroll menus on the options “Country”/ “Gender”/ “Language” / “Age” might present an error for many Mozilla Firefox users (no error was found with Internet Explorer, Safari or Google Chrome). This is a Mozilla Firefox bug, and to correct it, please visit: http://support.mozilla.com/pt-BR/kb/Pressing%20Tab%20key%20does%20not%20select%20menus%20or%20buttons

2) On the menu above (under the logo) there will the following tabs: Payment / Change Password / Log out.

a) Payment: it is still not available. Click here to see the individual participant registration fees.

b) Change password: change your user password.

3) To complete your registraton, you must pay the registration fee. The payment deadline is still not available.

 

Organization Registration

1) fill up all required fields (marked with a * )

Observation 1: you must read and agree with the World Social Forum Charter of Principles.

Observation 2: the scroll menus on the options “Country”/ “Gender”/ “Language” / “Age” might present an error for many Mozilla Firefox users (no error was found with Internet Explorer, Safari or Google Chrome). 2) Click “REGISTER ORGANIZATION”.

3) Once the organization is registered, the person responsible for registering will receive an e-mail of confirmation.

4) Organization, when paying the registration fees, are allowed to register up to 5 participants and 3 activities of 1 shift each. Each shift lasts 3 hours. For example: a) 1 one-shift activity + 1 three-shift activit; b) 3 one-shift activities; c) one single activity lasting up to three shifts. To register participants of organization, click “Participants” tab on the upper menu bar and fill up the Registration of Participants form. To register activities click “Self-organized Activities” tab on the upper menu bar and fill up the Registration of Activities form.

Observation 3: if the organization wishes to register more than 5 participants, the registration fee for each extra participant of organization will be the same as the individual participant fee.

Observation 4: It will be possible to register 2 extra activities, but the fees of these extra activities are higher (chek the Table of Fees).

Observation 5: activities are entirely self-organized, meaning that it is up to each organization to decide how they are going to be held. Organizations must only be in accordance with the WSF Charter of Principles and indicate the details of their activities in the registration forms.

Observation 6: activities don’t necessarily have to be held in Dakar. Organizations can hold activities outside Dakar, remotely connected to the World Social Forum, but they must indicate that it is an Expanded Activity in the registration form. Then you will receive an e-mail with further information.

5) You can edit all information on your registration forms (regarding organization, activities, participants data) at all times until the payment of the registration fees – keep in mind that there will be a deadline for this payment! To edit information, click on the preferred tab on the upper menu. After payment is processed it won’t be possible to edit any information.

6) The registration of your organization and activity will only be completed after paying the registration fee. The payment deadline is still not available.

7) Organizations can request for interpretation in their activities in the registration of activities form. Please, notice the extra fees!

8) Organizations can also request for exhibition stalls. To do so, click on the “Stalls” tab on the upper menu and register your request. Please, notice the extra fees!
